Most Americans consume much more Omega-6 fatty acids than Omega-3 fatty acids – with the average ratio being about 20:1. Ideal ratios for optimal health are 2:1, indicating Americans over consume saturated fat (fried food, fatty meats, junk food) by a factor of 10. Develop a plan to reduce Omega-6 fats and increase Omega-3 fatty acids for optimal health. Healthy fats (mostly Omega-3 Fatty Acids) are found in avocados, butter (organic), coconut/coconut oil, egg yolks (organic), grass fed beef, olives/olive oil, palm oil, raw nuts, and nut oils. To maximize health, increase Omega-3 Fatty Acid foods, and reduce unhealthy fats including vegetable oils, fried foods, heavily saturated fatty processed meats, and junk food.
