The journal Indoor and Built Environment reports, in a small study, researchers found that using a gas stove can result in kitchen air quality three times worse than that of an outdoor urban environment. Compared with homes that have electric ranges, those with gas stoves had significantly higher levels of gaseous emission, including nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide.
DIET DRINKS SABOTAGE WEIGHT LOSS
British researchers say diet drinks don’t seem to be any better for losing weight than sugary drinks. They say, although, artificially sweetened beverages are low calorie, they trigger peoples sweet tastes and that causes people to overeat.

According to a national poll, people who regularly run, cycle, swim, or compete in sports have fewer problems falling or staying asleep and feel better-rested than sedentary people.
BRAIN AGING DIET
Recent research has shown the Mediterranean diet to help slow your brains aging. The study looked at hundreds of adults in their seventies and found that those who closely followed a Mediterranean diet – eat plenty of fruit, vegetables, nuts, olive oil, a moderate amount of fish and also red wine – that group experienced half the brain shrinkage of aging the normal.
JUICE FOR RECOVERY
Tomato juice does more than just make a good cocktail – it’s also a recovery aid for your muscles. In one study, athletes who swapped their sports drinks for tomato juice had less post-exercise inflammation than those who didn’t. The reason: Probably due to the unique blend of antioxidants in processed tomatoes, says study author.
ANGER AND WORKING OUT
A study led by the Population Health Research Institute at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, found that people who exercise while being emotionally upset are twice as likely to feel a heart attack symptoms within an hour after working out.
STOP LATE NIGHT MUNCHIES
Eat a high-protein breakfast to a stop to midnight munching. In a study, women started the day with either eggs and lean beef or a lower-protein cereal. Having a high-protein morning resulted in participants snacking on about 135 fewer after-dinner calories. The reason: Protein-rich meals prevent the secretion of the hunger hormone ghrelin and stimulate release of the satiety hormone peptide YY, says study author.
MUSCLES TRAINING SCHEDULE
Scheduling your workout at a certain time of the day can make it more effective. Scientists at Northwestern University found that muscles have their own internal clock, which regulates its metabolism and energy efficiency.
