HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO?
One food-combining weight-loss trick is to avoid eating fat and sugar at the same time. Since sugar triggers insulin, the fat storage hormone, it is a double whammy to have extra fat floating around in the bloodstream at the same time insulin levels are high (think dangerous double-whammy doughnuts). To have your cake and eat it too (minimize fat storage) consider eating sugar treats and high fat treats at different times. Especially with fat and sugar, timing is everything!
When using a Neti Pot, be sure to use distilled water, water boiled from 1-3 minutes then cooled, sterilized water, or filtered water (one micron or smaller) to avoid illness from contaminated water. Unrefined Sea salt and Himalayan salt are preferred over processed salt because of the minerals contained, and chemicals avoided.
GO A LIL BANANAS
Bananas are an amazing food. They contain many nutrients including Vitamin A, the B Vitamins, Vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, potassium, and selenium. They also contain tryptophan, dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine – all essential to neurotransmitter function in the brain promoting calmness, decreasing depression, and enhancing memory. Consider adding bananas to the diet to fulfill one of the 10 servings of daily fruits and vegetables.
THE WHOLE TRUTH?
Always ask who funded a study before blindly accepting the results as “truthful”. One study found that when a drug company, or an industry such as the Corn Producers, or Dairy Association funds a study for their products, there is a zero per cent chance that published study results will be negative. When independent researchers evaluate products, there is a 40% chance of a negative evaluation. The difference in results may be related to “Conflict of Interest.”
